User Manual
The following is an explanation of the IVERT Control Interface System and its functionality. The manual is separated into six sections: needed files, initial startup of the control interface and a description for each of the tabs in the interface: patient information, virtual environment, treadmill control, and logging.
Required Files
To run the IVERT Control Interface the following files are needed:
- IVERT_CI.exe
- QtCore4.dll
- QtGui4.dll
Initial Startup
Initiate the IVERT Control Interface by running "IVERT_CI.exe." The IVERT control interface automatically makes a connection to the VR App and Treadmill Control System as the interface is loaded.
Patient Information
Fill out the patient’s information in each of the applicable input boxes. To save these values for reuse for a subsequent session, select “File” from the context menu at the top of the screen and then select “Save Patient Values to File.” The window will then prompt the user for a configuration name. Once values have been saved, the user will have the ability to subsequently select “File” from the context menu, then “Load Patient Values from File” and browse for the desired patient configuration file.
Virtual Environment
Select a virtual environment name from the list of available environments and then click the “Apply” button to finalize the selection.
Treadmill Control
The parameters for "Max Speed," "Curvature Multiplier," "Optical Flow Multiplier," and "Fixed Belt Speed" can all be adjusted by selecting the "up" and "down" arrows on the interface. Each value is sent to the VR App after any change is made to the parameter. The user can also change parameter values by typing in a values in the parameter box.
The parameters for "User Speed Control," "Curvature," and "Treadmill" can be set by selecting one of the radio buttons under each parameter. Changes are automatically sent to the VR App.
Mini-sessions are short sessions within a physical therapy appointment. An appointment is expected to have multiple mini-sessions that last anyhwere from a couple of minutes to something longer. Mini-sessions can be used to record the number of steps a patient walks, the elapsed distance, and the total elapsed walking time. To begin a mini-session, click the "Begin Next Mini-Session" button. To end the current mini-session, click the "End Next Mini-Session" button.
To save these values for reuse for a subsequent session, select “File” from the context menu at the top of the screen and then select “Save Treadmill Control Values to File.” The window will then prompt the user for a configuration name. Once values have been saved, the user will have the ability to subsequently select “File” from the context menu, then selecting “Load Treadmill Control Values from File” and browsing for the desired patient configuration file.
Logging
This tab handles the treadmill-side logging of real-time treadmill parameters and values. Select whether logging should be enabled or disabled by selecting the desired button. Next, enter the name of the log file that you wish to create.
